Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who holds the state's Sports and Youth Services portfolio, told the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on September 10 that Rs 301 crore has been earmarked for preparations to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad. Sanghavi gave the figures in a written reply during Question Hour on the second day of the Assembly's monsoon session, responding to a question from Congress MLA Amit Chavda, according to reports carried by IndiaSportsHub and The Earth News.
Of the total, Rs 200 crore has been set aside for the host fee payable to Commonwealth Sport under the Host Collaboration Agreement. The remaining amount was split between a Rs 100 crore provision under the revenue head, covering administrative operations, technical consultancy, legal work and stakeholder coordination, and a token Rs 1 crore under the capital head for early venue-related work, both outlets reported.

Sanghavi's reply also confirmed that the state government has incorporated a company called the 'Amdavad 2030 Commonwealth Games Organisation' under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, through a resolution dated August 12, 2026. The entity is intended to handle planning and management of the Games, according to the reports.
Sanghavi told the Assembly that 'necessary action has also been taken regarding organising the sporting events, management of venues and other arrangements related to the Games,' as quoted by The Earth News. The reply indicated that the state has been in consultation with Commonwealth Sport, the Indian Olympic Association and international sports federations as it builds out the organisational structure for 2030.
Amdavad 2030 Commonwealth Games Organisation was formed as a not-for-profit entity under the Companies Act, 2013.
The company was constituted through a resolution dated August 12, 2026.
